Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport (JHG) serves as the main gateway to Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Located just 5 km west of the city center, the airport is equipped with customs and immigration facilities and can accommodate international flights.

These connections are primarily operated by China Southern Airlines, Kunming Airlines, and other regional carriers, with availability depending on season and demand.

For participants traveling from other regions, it is recommended to fly into a major international hub in China (e.g., Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, or Kunming) and then transfer to a domestic flight to Jinghong.

These routes are served by leading carriers such as China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Kunming Airlines. Expansion of the airport facilities is planned by June 2026 to further improve connectivity.

High-Speed Rail Travel

Since December 2021, the high-speed rail link between Kunming and Jinghong has transformed access to Xishuangbanna. Part of the Yumo Railway (China section of the China–Laos Railway), it provides a fast, safe, and comfortable option for conference attendees and tourists.

• Travel Time: 3–4.25 hours (depending on stops)

• Kunming South Station: Modern hub in Chenggong District, ideal for travelers transferring from the airport.

• Xishuangbanna Station (Jinghong): Only 15 minutes by car to major hotels and the conference venue. Local taxis and ride-hailing services (e.g., Didi) are readily available. This station also connects to Vientiane, Laos.
